I’m at my wit’s end …
Dear friends,
I hurt today. I can’t put it any other way. And because you talk and write to me, I know you are hurting too.
You hurt for the desperation and the madness of the cowards that physically hurt others in the dark of the night as they speak their truth, regardless of color, gender, religious preference or partisanship. And, you hurt for those that have the courage to take a position regardless of what side of the aisle they sit, in thankless seats, doing jobs few want.
You hurt for the children, your children, that are being left with a planet rapidly losing the very resources that sustain us. You worry about wars, nuclear arms and corruption. You long for the days that there was civility and respect outside of your immediate circle. Many things you are witnessing feel foreign, uncomfortable and discouraging to you.
There are those that put blinders on because it just hurts too much to look at it, to feel small against the odds. Other’s take a peek but can’t keep up with the never-ending barrage of global “news”, finding it hard to stay hopeful. I’m somewhere in the middle.
I didn’t wake up one day and decide to write Solutionaries – YOU are the Answer! Quite frankly, I had my corporate lawyer hat on and was happily ensconced in the world of big business. But, then I started talking to YOU and you felt like I did, at my wit’s end and completely on overwhelm with this entire can of worms. Like you, I just wanted to put an end to the madness.
So, I gathered some of you together and began writing exercises to help us navigate this path. I listened and surveyed what was working and what fell flat. Some were committed to find their piece of the jigsaw puzzle, others not so much because it was hard to get past the overwhelm. But, every time I went through the process, at least half of the group found a way that they could participate in solutions. And their hope gave me hope.
I wish I had the answers, that the world was kinder and more compassionate at a macro level. The one thing I do know is that if we can step away from the big picture and focus on a very small piece of this puzzle, one that calls to us and needs our special touch, collectively our impact will be significant and … the seas will become calmer.
I need your help. I would like to continue this work with organizations that have constituents that could use help finding work that fulfills them and leaves a positive imprint on the world. It could be veterans coming home, students graduating from universities, folks that have lost their jobs or are re-entering the work force. I’ve now seen the power of finding work that is meaningful, that contributes to the welfare of our communities - we all deserve nothing less.
If you know of any non-profits or organizations that could use this kind of training, I hope that you will message me. Quite frankly, all I know to do is to keep moving forward, putting my hand out to the lightworkers who are trying to make a difference, trying to make the world a better place for all of us. For those that have stuck with me on this quest and supported me, I am grateful.
Linda
